Toddler slippers are on the agenda today! I love making baby booties, but toddlers are running rampant throughout my house so they really make more sense for me to crochet.
In order to make a really simple toddler slipper, I’ve taken my Basic Baby Shoes pattern and revamped it so that it will fit a larger foot.
Anyone who has tried (and failed) to make two identical baby shoes will appreciate the simple, no fuss design of this very simple and basic pattern!
The finished project is approximately 6″ inches from heel to toe. Playing with the hook size will give you a little more wiggle room if you need them larger or smaller.
Interested in a complete printable pdf copy filled with extras you won’t find here in the blog pattern? You can find it only over in my Craftsy shop!

I am new to crocheting so this may be a really dumb question… Do I need to do something different with one of them since they are going on opposite feet? Does that question even make sense? Lol

It totally makes sense! These will stretch so the right and left won’t matter when you are finished 🙂

k, so i think i may be doing something wrong. when i finish, the heel/ankle part is too wide. so i had to weave in a string to pull it tight for my kiddo to wear it w/o it falling off. any ideas maybe on what could possibly be wrong?

You could try sizing your hook down to make it smaller. That might help!

“dc2tog 8 times” for this part on ‘rnd 2’ does that mean 8x in the same hole?

I did these as a request from a friend of mine who was looking around for something simple to make her toddler. She has been searching for a while and there isn’t anything out there!
Can’t wait to see your pattern! I’ll be sure to pass it along to her as well.
